Investing in property via your Self Managed Super Fund
Using a non recourse loan to purchase property.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants have highlighted an issue for trustees of a SMSF that have invested in property through their fund. If a trustee has used a limited recourse borrowing arrangement to purchase the property, the rules around these arrangements limit the ability of owners to fund repairs to their property. Trustees affected by the recent floods in Queensland and fires in Victoria should contact the providers of the borrowing arrangement as soon as possible.
